Announcements
Faith Welcomes The Rev. Marie Bunt – “Welcome, Pastor Marie!” Thank you for being our Supply Pastor today while Pastor Greg is away in Ocean City with our High School Youth and several Adult Advisors (a.k.a. parents), for this year’s “Road Trip” Conference. We are happy to have you with us to lead our worship today!
Ladies’ Bible Study – will be meeting this Monday, Jan. 28, at 7:30 p.m. at the home of Gloria Mohr. Please give her a call if you plan to attend. All women are welcome to join in this group. We use the Bible study located inside Gather magazine, and we have extra copies of the magazine available in the Narthex. Please help yourself to a copy and come join us!
Scout Sunday Set for Feb. 3 – Plan now to attend this year’s Scout Sunday, always a popular day when Faith’s Scouts and their family members serve in every role during both services. The 11:00 a.m. service will also have a special dedication to those who will be receiving their “God and Church” award. Please plan to attend and show our Scouts how much they mean to us!
Ash Wednesday Soup Supper and Service – Yes, it’s that time again, to come together over a meal and then worship together to start the season of Lent. Supper will begin at 5:30 p.m. followed by our worship service. Please sign up in the Narthex to let us know what you can bring: soup, bread, a dessert? We are looking forward to a reflective and meaningful time together.
Our Next Healing Hands & Prayer Ministry Meeting For anyone interested in learning more about Faith’s Healing & Prayer Ministry, please plan to join us after the second worship service on Sunday, Feb. 24! This will be our next installment of our lessons on Prayer and Healing. We’ll meet in the Fellowship Hall over a light lunch, as we did last time. Lou Schaffer will be providing a new set of handouts for further understanding and encouragement. If you have questions from your last set of handouts, please bring them along. We are very excited about the growing interest at Faith in the Healing Ministries of the church.
Visits from The Pastor – If you want a home-based visit, a lunch-time meeting, or coming by the church for a visit with Pastor Greg, please give us a call at the church (410) 683-3136, so that Jill can help to schedule an appointment for you. Pastor’s schedule is most available on Wednesdays and Thursdays (9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.). Let us know what works for you!
Hope Totes – for homeless men at Helping Up Mission! Each bag contains a list of needed toiletries. Faith is hoping to collect a total of 50 bags, and appreciate your generous support!
“Like” Us on Facebook! – If you haven’t seen it, yet, go now! Run, do not walk! If you are not using Facebook already, it’s easy! Just create a free Facebook account for yourself at www.facebook.com, then type in “Faith Lutheran Church, Cockeysville, MD” and our page will appear! We have posted up-coming events and fun photos of what church members have been up to lately! Our friendship base is growing and growing! We hope we can count you among our many “Faith”-ful friends! Something To Think About
God’s purpose. God’s plan.
The great dance, the ancient harmonies, weaving and interweaving to make the pattern perfect.
Often it is difficult to see that there is any pattern.
We are too small to see the richness of the whole.
--Madeleine L. Eagle
Fun & Fellowship 2013 Events! – will be posted on Faith’s website at www.FaithChurchToday.org. Look for this year’s listing of fun, social events to draw us together: sometimes within the church walls and sometimes outside the building at a family’s home. Either way, always a good time!
Chocolate, Wine and Cheese! – will be held on Saturday, Feb. 16, at 6:00 p.m. at the home of Shan and Mark Carroll. Join us in a little wine-tasting by bringing one of your favorites to share (please have label covered). Or share a cheese-themed appetizer or a chocolate-themed dessert. It’s loads of fun! Invite a friend along, too! Please add your name to the sign-up sheet in the Narthex.

Holy God, work in us, so that we may confess with sorrow and receive healing with joy, through Christ. Amen.
Please note that privacy restrictions require you to have the personal approval of anyone whose name you request to be included on the prayer list. When you add a name you assume the responsibility for that person’s approval which is why you must include your name on the Yellow Sheet. Because we believe that it is a privilege to lift up the needs of others in prayer, today and this week, we pray for those listed below. All names on the list will be prayed for over the next four weeks, unless otherwise notified. If you want someone to remain on the list beyond that time, please fill out another “Yellow Sheet.” We appreciate your help in making our efforts more efficient and remind you that the Lord not only commands us to pray, but also promises to hear us.
